Zhou Jianting, male, born in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province in September 1972, is a member of the CPC, a doctor of engineering, second-class professor and doctoral tutor, has completed post-doctorate work and has cultivated more than 160 postdoctoral, doctoral and postgraduate students. In addition, he is also a distinguished professor under the Changjiang Scholars Scheme of the Ministry of Education, winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, candidate for the Ten Thousand Talent Program of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, first new leading talent in scientific and technical innovation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, national candidate for the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project, first excellent scientist under Chongqing Municipal Talent Program, with the bridge status sensing and advanced maintenance innovation team under his leadership listed as Chongqing’s first Natural Science Funds Innovation Groups and 2019 Scientific and Technical Innovation Talent Program for the Transport and Transportation Industry—Innovation Team of Key Fields. Being dedicated to research on structural behaviors and performance control of bridges in mountainous areas, he has undertaken eleven national scientific research projects, published nine monographs and 131 SCI/EI citation papers, and obtained fifty-three national patents for invention. His research achievements have been granted three second prizes for National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology (two ranking the first and one ranking the third), seven first prizes and fourteen second prizes for provincial/ministerial prizes for progress in science and technology. Of particular note, he was the first finisher of the “Research and Application of New Technologies in Highway Bridge Detection” Program, for which he was granted the second prize for 2019 National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology.
His study and work experience is as follows:
September 1989 – July 1993: studied as an undergraduate majoring in highway and urban road at Chongqing Jiaotong College;
July 1993 – May 1996: studied as a graduate student majoring in bridge engineering at Chongqing Jiaotong College;
September 2001 – December 2005: studied as a doctoral candidate majoring in instrument science and technology (intelligent structure) at Chongqing University;
Since May 1998: successively served as deputy director of Scientific Research Section, Science and Technology Division, director of Scientific Research Section, Science and Technology Division and secretary of Scientific Research Section (section leader) of Chongqing Jiaotong College, deputy director of Science and Technology Division, dean of the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering and deputy party secretary of Chongqing Jiaotong University;
Since March 2020: served as director of the National Key Laboratory for Bridge and Tunnel Engineering in Mountainous Areas Jointly Built by Chongqing Municipality and the Ministry of Science and Technology;
Since April 2020: served as standing member of Party Committee and vice president of Chongqing Jiaotong University.
