Yang Shengfa, male, Han nationality, born in January 1970 in Linshui, Sichuan Province, is a Doctor of Engineering, a professor, and a doctoral supervisor,worked in July 1993. He is a vice president and a member of the Party Standing Committee.
In June 2003, he graduated from the College of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering, Sichuan University, with a Ph.D. in Engineering. From June 2005 to June 2007, he completed his postdoctoral research in the Department of Hydraulic Engineering at Tsinghua University. Between July 2015 and July 2020, he served as Deputy Dean of the River and Ocean Engineering School and concurrently Executive Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the National Engineering Research Center for Inland Waterway Regulation. From July 2020 to July 2024, he served as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the River and Ocean Engineering School. In July 2024, he was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Chongqing Jiaotong University.
He has been engaged in teaching and research in the fields of fluvial dynamics and ecological waterway engineering. He has received numerous national-level accolades, including being selected for the National "Million Talents Program," designated as a National Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions, and awarded a special government allowance by the State Council. He has presided over ten national key R&D projects under the 14th Five-Year Plan, National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, and significant national engineering research initiatives. He has garnered more than ten provincial and ministerial-level awards, including special prizes and first prizes, authored five monographs, and published over 100 high-impact research papers in SCI and EI-indexed journals.
