From May 31 to June 2, 2023, Professor Zhao Ling from the School led a team to Paris, France to attend “2023 Prognostics and Health Management Conference”. This international academic conference attracted a large number of participants, providing a golden opportunity for international academic exchange. Owing to the long period of professional research in the field of prognostics and health management, Professor Zhao Ling and his team have accumulated rich experience. They have been dedicated to combining scientific research with practical applications while constantly exploring new technologies and methods. Presence at this meeting is of great significance to understand the frontier and development trend of international research.

During the conference, they gave a lecture on the recent research achievement of the team – “Prognostics Based on Eigenmode Decomposition of Whale Optimization Algorithm”, expounded on the whale optimization algorithm and variational mode decomposition, and demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of this method in practical application through experimental data and cases. After having positive interactions and exchanges with experts and scholars attending the conference, they got valuable feedback and had in-depth discussions with some peers. This lecture not only helped their research work, but also promoted exchanges and cooperation with their international counterparts.

In addition to showcasing their own research results, participants also listened to speeches by scholars and experts from all over the world. These speeches offered them the latest information on the development and future trend of fault prediction and health management technology, providing important reference and implications for their future research work.

During the conference, participants also had extensive exchanges with fellow scholars from France, Britain, Sweden, Canada. They understood each other's research directions and achievements, shared practical experience and technical knowledge, and discussed future cooperation opportunities. Such world-wide academic exchange provides a broad platform for teachers of the School, and expand the school’s influence in the international academic community.
