Recently, the “International Conference on Elliptic and Parabolic Problems: GAETA 2024” was held in Gaeta, Italy, gathering over 100 experts and scholars from various countries including China, Japan, Italy, France, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, and Romania for this international academic event. Professors Song Qiankun and Zhang Jianjun from Mathematics and Statistics School at Chongqing Jiaotong University were invited to participate.
During the conference, experts and scholars conducted extensive and in-depth academic exchanges on topics such as nonlinear elliptic equations, nonlinear parabolic equations, analytical methods in fluid dynamics, dynamical systems, variational methods, reaction-diffusion and evolution equations, control problems in partial differential equations, inverse problems in partial differential equations, and geometric inequalities, etc.. Professors Song and Zhang fully engaged in various academic activities. In particular, Professor Zhang Jianjun presented a talk titled “Normalized ground states for a coupled Schrodinger system: mass supercritical case”,where he engaged in academic exchanges with international counterparts regarding normalized solutions for elliptic systems. His research findings received positive attention and accolades.
Meanwhile, the two professors had in-depth academic discussions with experts from Italy, Australia, Poland, and other countries, exploring hot topics in the current field of nonlinear partial differential equation research. They also discussed matters such as international academic cooperation, joint education programs, and talent cultivation.
This exchange not only showcased the academic prowess of our university’s faculty, but also broadened their international perspective, enhanced their enthusiasm for participating in international academic exchanges, and fostered a vibrant academic atmosphere. It also encourages the scholars and professors to actively follow academic frontiers in the future, explore new forms of international exchanges and cooperation, and make more contributions to continuously advancing our university’s scientific research and deepening academic and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
